Residential technology services

Smarter, more reliable home technology without unnecessary complexity.

Whole-home Wi-Fi

Coverage that reaches the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the office and the backyard.

  • Wired access points or mesh, chosen for the house
  • Coverage planning and testing
  • Dead zone and slow Wi-Fi troubleshooting

Structured cabling and wired networking

Ethernet where it matters most: offices, TVs, access points and cameras.

  • Ethernet runs and network panels
  • Network upgrades for faster internet plans
  • Clean, labeled equipment closets

New construction and renovation

The cheapest time to plan a home network is before the drywall goes up.

  • Network and Wi-Fi planning from the floor plan
  • Pre-wire for access points, TVs and cameras
  • Coordination with your builder or electrician

Smart home and automation

Lighting, security, climate and networking that work together.

  • Smart home device setup and integration
  • Automation planning
  • Reliable networking for smart devices

Home theater and multimedia

Big screens, surround sound and music throughout the house.

  • TV installation and home theater setup
  • Surround sound and whole-home music
  • AV and streaming device connectivity

Troubleshooting and upgrades

For when something stopped working, or never quite worked.

  • Slow or unreliable internet
  • Devices that won't connect or keep dropping
  • Network and equipment upgrades

Building or renovating? Plan the network first.

A home can be carefully engineered from the foundation up and still end up with one router in the basement and no signal in the primary bathroom. A wireless evaluation during the design phase costs little. Fixing coverage after the drywall is finished costs a lot more.

How a project works

The same straightforward process applies whether it's one stubborn problem or a full installation.

  1. Start with a call or message

Describe what's going on or what you're planning. A rough description is enough to start.

  2. Review what's there

Existing equipment, cabling and coverage are reviewed on-site or remotely, so recommendations build on what you already own.

  3. Agree on a plan

You get a clear recommendation, with options and costs, before any work begins.

  4. Install, document, support

The work is completed cleanly and documented, with ongoing support available when you want it.

Home technology questions

Mesh Wi-Fi or wired access points: which is better?

When Ethernet can be run to each access point, wired access points are usually the most reliable choice, because each one has a full-speed connection back to the router. Mesh systems are useful when running cable isn't practical. Many homes end up with a mix of both.

When should I plan the network for a new home?

Before drywall. During design or framing, it's inexpensive to run Ethernet to access point locations, TVs, offices and cameras. Once the walls are closed, the same work costs more and the options get narrower.

Can you fix Wi-Fi dead zones without rewiring the house?

Often, yes. Depending on the house, options include relocating the main router, adding access points over existing wiring, using coax-based networking (MoCA), or a well-placed mesh system.

Do you set up home theaters and whole-home audio?

Yes. Services include TV installation, home theater and surround sound setup, whole-home music, and the network connectivity those systems depend on.

Which areas do you serve for residential work?

Homes in Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry and York counties, including Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Carlisle, Hershey and York.
